CHA Cards!

Hi, it's Gini here to share some of the cards that I made for the WorldWin Papers CHA booth.  My assignment was to make cards to show off our new line of matching envelopes/ Petallic papers. These are so sparkly and beautiful in real life. You just need to grab some for yourself and see!

Just because the envelope is already made, it doesn't mean that you can't add a few die-cuts to really make it special!

This paper is gorgeous dry embossed and heat embossed as you can see here.
A simple monogramed note-card is always sophisticated and fashionable.  For this card, the letter was cut from the black paper, the die-cut was removed and glued to a cream base.

Mixed whites are perfect for wedding announcements - and you've got the perfect envelope to match!

I'll be back later in the week to share some bright spring cards.  See you then!

Travel Album

Hello! It is Gloria here with my FIRST EVER post to the WorldWin Paper Blog!

I first heard of WorldWin Paper in 2011 when I was part of the Spellbinders DT. WorldWin sponsored the team and I was able to use some of the fantastic papers. A few months ago, Patti Hamil (who is a DT pal of mine) contacted me and asked if I would want to design for WorldWin after the New Year. She had me a "free cardstock"! I am so pleased to be here!

I was able to design one project for the WorldWin CHA booth using the fotomatr system! This is a system that has aspects of Project Life but in a more "messy mini album" format!

I decided to make an album of some of our more "exotic" travels. We have been on some very BIG trips in the past few years and this was fun way to put them all together in one album.

I covered the 10 x 11 1/2 inch "naked" Memory Saver Binder with Graphic 45 and Teresa Collins papers and added some extra detail to the front. I matted some of my images and papers with Licorice CutMates and Black Treasures cardstock.

I really like the size of the binder and the fact that you can add extra pages and even 8 1/2 x 11 page protectors!

Now for some views of the inside.

For my "book plate" I used one of the ticket-shaped Decorative Tags.

I love the Memorabilia Pockets, which come four in a pack. They hold 4x6 inch photos or other items. I used mine as a table of contents and placed a journaling tag inside.

I admit, when I first saw this product I was not convinced that it was for me. I love to "lump up" my scrapbook pages, plus I tend to be a one photo per page type of gal. And these items looked so....well...plain! However, I was attracted to the kraft color and the fact that I could go as simple or as fancy as I wished. I also realized this was the perfect medium for making some albums quickly to give as gifts! Once I got going, I loved how the album turned out and I cannot wait to make a "fancier" one!

I printed my photos at 4x6 inches or a bit larger. I added stamped image and other images cut from paper to decorate the pages, but for the most part, kept it very simple. My late father-in-law would have loved this. He did NOT like my "normal" scrapbooks at all.

This page is a Fold Out Binder page.

Some of the pages come with decorative edges, to which I added a printed paper strip.

Some pages have cut-out areas, like the circles here. Great for "peek-a-boo" pages!

I am not much of a journal writer in my scrapbooks, mostly because I hate my writing and I write "downhill"! I did a lot better with the pre-printed lines on these pages.

There are several styles of pocket pages for holding memorabilia.

Thanks for looking!

New Design Team Members

As promised, we have some exciting news to share. Besides the original three design team members -  Gini Cagle, Heather Drews Carpenter and Patti Hamil, we are happy to announce two new additions to our team!

Gloria Stengel

My name is Gloria Stengel and I live in Oceanside, CA. I’ve been a CA resident since March 2005, after living in five other states. I live with my husband Matt and our three children, Nathan (21), Laura (17), and Jonah (12). I homeschool my two youngest children, but my oldest son has graduated and now attends college full-time. We also have a brand new kitten named Milo. He was born August 2012, and he is making my life crazy, but he's so cute that I am willing to sacrifice the occasional ribbon or button!

I have been hooked on paper crafts all of my life. In 1990, I discovered rubber stamping and in 1996, I stumbled across "modern" scrapbooking. I love all aspects of paper crafting: card making, scrapbooking, mini albums, altered art, up-cycling, you name it! I am happiest when I am making a mess! It's the cleaning up part that I don't care for!

I have been on a number of design teams over the past few years, including current terms with Graphic 45 and Hampton Art Stamps. I was also part of the Spellbinders 2011-2012 team. I also accept various guest design spots and work with online stores from time to time, including Really Reasonable Ribbon and CropStop. I recently began writing blog articles for Crafts 'n things Magazine, which allows me to share tutorials, favorite products, and advice on paper crafting. The design teams I work with are very diverse, which is an amazing thing for me considering that I love all sorts of art mediums.

The two "holes" in my design team resume is not being part of a cardstock or adhesive design team. Now, I am half-way to perfection. I am pleased to join the Worldwin team!

I have also been published in several magazines. Plus I have a blog, a Facebook Fan Page, and a YouTube channel in order to share my creative work. Visit my blog, Scraps of Life:

Katrina Hunt

Hi! I am Katrina and I live in Midwest USA! I am currently owned by four Cardigan Welsh Corgis, who appear in my layouts from time to time (or A LOT of the time)! I'm a full-time office worker by day and crafter by night. I've discovered as an adult that I love to create and craft. I was never the artsy type while growing up, unless you count cutting my doll's hair. I have been scrapbooking since February 2009, when I decided to make a mini album for a friend. I discovered that I loved it! Well, let's just say after that I went nuts with the paper, scissors, and glue. I love color, the more the better. To define my style is hard, as I do what makes me happy. If I had to I would say it's Shabby Chic, with a kick of fun. I like to scrap everyday life and things. I am excited and proud to be a part of WorldWin Papers and this amazing adventure. You can check my blog here: Katrina's Blog

Gloria and Katrina are both super talented and also super sweet people! We are so honored and excited to have them on our team!!! We can't wait for you all to see what they create with WorldWin!!! Please visit their blogs to see their beautiful work!!!

CHA Buzz

Happy Monday everyone!!! I hope everyone is excited with Winter CHA going on, seeing all the new products, checking blogs.....such a fun time, lots of excitement. As I said yesterday, we have some new things coming up, one really exciting thing is that we will announce two new design team members later this week, they will blow you away with their talent and styles! They're going to help us bring some new interest to our awesome papers and product! We can't wait for you to meet them.

For now, Gini and I are going to share a couple of our projects that are being shown at CHA. I am sharing a couple of cards that I did using our Petallics line of paper, this paper is absolutely perfect for any kind of formal or dressing projects that you create. It embosses well, cuts easily and is just really pretty!

I used several Spellbinders dies on this too, it cuts easily and embossed wonderfully also! On my first card I used ColorMates Smooth & Silky Lavendar for my base. Then use the Petallics in Autumn Hay for the main background.
I used Petallics Spring Larch for the leaves. I used the Spellbinders Jewel Flowers & Flourishes die. I also used the Floral Doily Accents die to emboss across the bottom under the ribbon.

For this one I used a sheet of the Petallics Beargrass for the base and the heart mat and Coral Pink for the larger background color. I used the the Beargrass for the rose that was cut with the Spellbinders Rose Creations die.
Here is a close-up of the rose. I used the really pretty Petaloo leaves. The flower turned our beautifully with the Petallics paper!

Other supplies used:
Anna Griffin Inc. 3-D titles
Really Reasonable Ribbon (purple dot, whitelace and purple baker's twine)
Provocraft Cuttlebug heart embossing folder
Kuretake Zig - Zig Writer marker

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello everyone, I know it's been quiet around here, but we've been going through some changes here. There were some personnel changes and the DT was left slightly in limbo for quite a while. Now we have a new leader and he is bringing lots of good things your way and we can't wait to share.

We have a couple of new design team members that we will be introducing after CHA, have some projects to share and will be keeping the blog active. We apologize for the lack of activity but will remedy it soon! There are new things debuting at CHA and we will have pics for you soon.

Please check back and we will have some cool pics of some FotoMatr projects to share next week! Thanks so much.
