Using WorldWin Papers in Construction...

In the construction of mini albums, that is! Here on the WorldWIn blog, we usually share with you how pretty the papers are, and we show you what amazing things you can make where the papers are the "star of the show."

Today, I want to show you how amazing WorldWin products are BEHIND THE SCENES!

I used WorldWin Chipboard and Cardstock as the foundation for this mini album. Graphic 45 is a design team sponsor, so I also use the Graphic 45 Good Ol' Sport paper collection.

I am a huge fan of the WorldWin Chipboard and use it for a lot of different things. It is very sturdy and easy to work with.

Here is a little video tutorial to show you how to create the actual base of the album.

I used a combination of the chipboard and two weights of black cardstock: Smooth Black which is 95# weight and ColorMates Heritage Black which is 65# weight.

For this sporty mini, I used almost a full 12 x 12 pad of the Graphic 45 Good Ol' Sport papers, plus I added in some of the G45 retired collections that seemed to "match."

This mini is 5 x 7 x 2 inches. It is a fun size, and jam packed with pocket and flaps!

Here is a peeky at what the album looks like opened up. You can see it is chock full of goodness! The WorldWin cardstock is very nice weight to work with, and stands up to the "abuse" of a mini album.

Each page is simply cardstock, layered together. As they say, I don't make anything without WorldWin cardstock! I think I may have used up a whole pack with this project! {wink}

Here is another video to give you a look at each page of the mini. You can see every pocket and flap.

Thank you, Graphic 45, for sponsoring the WorldWin Papers team! We appreciate you!

Recycled Photo Box & Flower Tutorial

If you're like me you have a stack of photos waiting to be scrapped that you've already printed. If you want a neat place to store them and keep them on your desk I have a recycled box idea. I started with the box that my 4x6 photo paper came in. It was a black and blue HP box. It even fastens on the bottom. This is how it turned out.

  "
I covered the box with pieces of patterned paper from the Graphic45 "Mother Goose" collection. Then I added some blooms and leaves that I made with WorldWin DoubleMates cardstock.

Here is a close-up of the detail and part of the blooms. I added some chipboard and cardstock accents from the collection as well. And a little bow! I added glitter glue around the edges to give a more finished look.

I also added some little tendrils of green cardstock that I curled for added detail. The leaves I just cut from WorldWin (outdoorsy olive) cardstock and inked for detail.

For the blooms I used WorldWin DoubleMates (orange dream) cardstock. I started by drawing 4 circles, 2 smaller than the other.

I then cut them out with decorative edge scissors, these are the ones that I used.

Here is what they looked like.

Then cut small slits into each one, I cut four in the larger and three in the smaller ones.

Then ink the edges and the center as shown below. You will mist with water, so the color will blend and not look so harsh.

Mist with water and fold into centers and twist slightly, they will look like these.

After they dry thoroughly just gently unfold and shape them until you like the way they look.

Then layer them together and you're done!!! Really simple but cute little blooms!!! They look like a carnation to me!!! They will have a different look depending on the type scissors that you use!!!

I hope you liked the blooms, and the box is just an easy project to store some photos and keep them from getting dusty or bent while on your desk. Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Make Today Special!

Hello, and Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there! And to everyone else, just Happy Day!!!! I made a card to share using some Petallics.

I used the Petallics in Wine Cup for the mat, and Autumn Hay for the card base and banner strip. All of the patterned paper and embellies are from the 3Birds Studio, Graceful Season collection.

I added a little twine that matched as well. The Petallics paper embossed beautifully, I used a folder from Couture Creations called Exotic! The patterns just show so crisp on this gorgeous paper!

My wish for today is that all Mother's get to spend the day with their children and family, and if they are too far away I hope they talk to them and for the ones who are already gone I hope today is a day to have happy and precious memories of the women in your lives!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day!

I want to wish all the moms out there a very Happy Mother's Day! I made a pretty card for all of you!

1. Trim Elan Metallics Candied Violet cardstock to create a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch card.

2. Using a die cut template, cut the dotted "overlay" from Petallics Ice cardstock. Trim to fit card front. Attach the dotted overlay with foam tape for extra dimension.

3. Using a selection of die cut templates, cut flower and leaf shapes from Twist cardstock. The sample uses Twist Lime, Lilac, and Yellow.

4. Ink the shapes as desired and form into a flower cluster. The Twist cardstock is smooth on one side and mulberry paper on the other. You are able to create amazing paper flowers!

5. Use Natural Smooth cardstock to trim out a small tag. Stamp the sentiment with gray ink. Attach the mini tag to the right side of the flower cluster with foam tape.

6. Trim Natural Smooth cardstock to fit the inside of the card. Stamp the sentiment with gray ink. Attach the panel to the inside of the card.

Thanks for looking!

Mixed Media Flower Card Tutorial

Hi, it's Gini back with you again today! I wanted to create a mixed media/shabby card. Here's  how I created this.

1.  Begin with a 3.5" x 8" card base ( WorldWin ColorMates Beach)
2. Cut the next panel 3.25" x 7.75" ( WorldWin ColorMates White). Distress the edges by first using a distressing tool and then dipping the edges in a diluted mist spray.

3.  Cut a piece of WorldWin Translucent Vellum and a piece of the Beach cardstock 3" x 7.5".  Tape a Dreamweaver brass stencil over the vellum and apply modeling paste and allow to dry.
4.  Mount the vellum to the Bear cardstock by running the cardstock through the Xyron 5" Creative Station and applying the vellum to it (this is a great method to avoid seeing any adhesive on the vellum.
5.  Adhere crochet ribbon around the center of the panel.
6.  Lightly mist the entire card with a 2-toned pink mist.
7.  Apply the large Zva Creative Flourish ( CRB-06CA-106) to the card.

8.  Die cut multiple layers of the  Tattered Blossoms (Heartfelt Creations) using WorldWin's Petallics ( Coral Pink).  Shape the flower and attach to the card.  Add punched leaves to finish.
